On May 14, during a trip to the Belarusian city of Mogilyov, the team of the project “Pearl Necklace of Holy Russia” made a presentation of the project in the Belarusian-Russian University, which is a partner university of Smolensk. The meeting was attended by over 70 teachers and students of the Belarusian university.
In his speech, the project manager, the head of the Smolensk Diocese Department on Relations with Society and the Media, Archpriest Valery Ryabokon , spoke about the goals and objectives of the project, general principles of working with students of Smolensk universities, and interaction with partner organizations.
The presentation of the project was presented by students of the branch of the National Research University "MEI" in Smolensk Vladislav Shankeev and Anastasia Erashova . The guys talked about their work, showed a presentation video about the city of Smolensk, created by the project team.
Students of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary Andrey Pokatov spoke about the project site gorodarusi.ru, created tourist case studies of cities and the main results of the work.
Students Victor Krotov (branch “National Research University“ Moscow Power Engineering Institute ”in Smolensk), Olga Minina (Smolensk State Medical University) shared their personal experience of participation in the project, Deacon Maxim Kostyukov (Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary), Ilya Losev (Smolensk State University) and Sofia Pushenkova (Smolensk State Institute of Arts).
The meeting with the Belarusian students was held in a warm and informal atmosphere. The performance of the youth vocal group of the Belarusian-Russian University was a creative gift for Smolensk.
After the end of the official presentation, tea-drinking and an informal meeting of the project team with the vice-rector of the Belarusian-Russian University on educational work A.V. Kazan , the head of the Social and Cultural Public Association "Heritage" V.V. Artemchik and members of the association. During the conversation, a discussion was held on possible prospects for cooperation between the Russian and Belarusian sides in the development of youth cultural and educational tourism.
