On May 2, 2019, students from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy were guests of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary.
At the beginning of the meetings, Acting Assistant Rector for educational work, Priest Dmitry Gamilovsky, conducted a tour of the seminary temple and the building of the seminary. The priest spoke about the history of the school, its famous students, about the peculiarities of teaching and the life of the spiritual school, about the projects in which seminary and seminarians participate.
At 12.00, with the participation of His Eminence SPTS Rector Metropolitan of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh Isidor, a presentation of the international project for the development of cultural and educational youth tourism “Pearl Necklace of Holy Russia” was held, which is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
The project leader was told by the head of the Smolensk diocese’s relationship with society and the media, Archpriest Valery Ryabokon, head of the Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church. Photo and video materials created as part of the project were demonstrated, volunteer students presented their works and achievements in this project. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and communication between students continued during a sightseeing tour of Smolensk.
