on April 4, 2019, a regular meeting of volunteers and curators of the international project for the development of youth tourism "Pearl necklace of Holy Russia"was held.
The Diocesan administration gathered representatives of the partner universities of the project. The children discussed with the curators the organizational issues of the planned trip to the most ancient city of the Republic of Belarus – Polotsk.
At the meeting, the list of the most important objects to visit was approved, the script of the presentation video dedicated to Polotsk was agreed. The participants of the project from Smolensk state Institute of arts are responsible for the preparation of the tourist case of the city. During the trip, which will take place on April 9, they will collect photo and video material for the preparation of the third tourist case of the project.
We will remind, the project "Pearl necklace of Holy Russia" is aimed at expanding cooperation of the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Belarusian Orthodox Church, universities of border regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in the sphere of promotion of spiritual, historical and cultural heritage through the development of youth tourism.
The peculiarity of the work on the project is that all the cities included in the "Pearl necklace" are shown from the point of view of a person open to impressions, ready to be surprised and share joyful discoveries. This is a new view of Smolensk students on the history of their native city and its neighbors — the ancient cities of Russia and Belarus. The results of the work can be found on the website gorodarusi.ru
The project is implemented with the support of the presidential grants Fund.
