the project" Pearl necklace of Holy Russia " aims to expand cooperation between the border regions of Russia and the Republic of Belarus in the promotion of spiritual, historical and cultural heritage through the development of youth tourism. In the course of the project, students are planning to create and test the international youth tourist route "Pearl necklace of Holy Russia" in six regions of Russia and Belarus, which historically constituted the North-Western part of Ancient Russia. The route will include the cities of Pskov, Novgorod, Smolensk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Polotsk.
the Relevance of the project is confirmed by the presence of a significant number of partners who will participate in the implementation of project activities. The initiative of the Smolensk diocese to expand the forms of international youth cooperation in the field of culture and education was supported by the largest universities of Smolensk region and their partners in all cities of the project; the project participants will be the Novgorod and Polotsk dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as Vitebsk, Mogilev and Polotsk dioceses of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
the Uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that students who will take a direct part in the preparation and implementation of all stages of the project will receive theoretical and practical skills of drawing up routes for travel, will choose the most interesting objects for study, will be able through the search and understanding of information, personal acquaintance with the monuments of history and culture of Russian and Belarusian cities, to understand the relationship of Russian and Belarusian cultures as two branches of a single historical cultural space, and also significantly expand the opportunities of young people of the two countries for independent travel in Russia and Belarus.
The project started on November 1, 2018 and will end on November 30, 2019.
